About Us
Govindaji Farms, in partnership with Sri Krishna Balaram Farms, is a program initiated by the congregational members of the Hare Krishna Society to protect the welfare of farmers and cows. Our farm project began in the early 2000s with a small herd of cows and a few acres of land. Today, it has flourished into a sprawling 100-acre farm. We strongly believe in the law of karma – what goes around comes around. In today’s world, where everything seems to be turning upside down, the rapid pace of change can be unsettling. Rising cancer rates, the struggle of young couples to conceive, and the growing concern of organic food security all indicate a world veering off course.
At Govindaji Farms, our mission is to preserve traditional breeds of cows, safeguard our indigenous seeds, and maintain a seed bank for the benefit of future generations. We aim to protect the interests of farmers by promoting and educating them about traditional farming practices that have been passed down through generations.
Another key aspect of our vision is to educate school and college students about growing their own food and promoting self-sufficiency. In today’s educational system, we often overlook the importance of teaching people how to cultivate their own food. We believe it’s essential to get back to our roots and adopt a simpler way of living that prioritizes high thinking and sustainability.
By working together, we can create a better future for ourselves and for generations to come.
